Global promotions in the guest loyalty program

In addition to the daily rate, packages from BAR and fix priced packages, global promotions can also be added to the returning guest benefits, which will also count towards the global promotions given to guests.

Global promotions can be registered in the returning guest benefits in the following two ways:


a) The bigger benefit applies when the global promotion code is entered

I. Both the global promotion and the returning guest benefit apply to the room type and package selected

In this case, the system will calculate the price reduced by the returning guest benefit and the price reduced by the global promotion separately, and then will actually give the one which grants a higher benefit.

Example:


​Returning guest benefit

  • 5% benefit

  • BAR, Non-refundable rate, Wellness package

  • Standard and Deluxe room

Global promotion

  • 20% benefit

  • BAR, Half board package, Non-refundable rate, Wellness package

  • Standard, Deluxe, Presidential suite

Booking parameters

Standard room, Non-refundable rate

As both discounts are valid for the room type and the package booked, the system will give the higher discount, i.e. the 20% global promotion.

II. Only one of the benefit is valid for the room type and package selected

In this case, the system will grant the discount which is valid for the room type and the package.

Example:


​Returning guest benefit

  • 5% benefit

  • BAR, Non-refundable rate, Wellness package

  • Standard and Deluxe room

Global promotion

  • 20% benefit

  • BAR, Half board package, Non-refundable rate

  • Standard, Deluxe, Presidential suite

Booking parameters I.

Presidential suite, BAR

To the Presidential suite, only the global promotion applies, therefore the system will give the 20% global promotion only.

Booking parameters II.

Deluxe room type, Wellness package

Regarding the Deluxe room type, both discounts apply, but to the Wellness package, only the returning guest benefit applies, therefore the system will give the 5% returning guest benefit.

b) Benefits are added when the global promotion code is entered

If this rule is set, the system will first give the global promotion, and reduce the returning guest benefit from the reduced price.

Example:


​Returning guest discount

  • 5% benefit

  • BAR, Non-refundable rate, Wellness package

  • Standard and Deluxe room

Global promotion

  • 20% benefit

  • BAR, Half board package, Non-refundable rate, Wellness package

  • Standard, Deluxe, Presidential suite

Standard room, Non-refundable rate

As both benefits are valid for the room type and the package, the system will first apply the 20% global promotion on the total price and then apply the 5% returning guest benefit on the resulting amount.

If the global promotion is not combined with the returning guest benefit, the following cases are distinguished:

I. The guest enters a promotion code on the booking platform

As the global promotion is not linked to the returning guest benefit, the system will apply the returning guest benefit as the basis, and will not give the global promotion, even if the guest enters the promotion code on the platform.

II. The guest does not enter a promotion code on the booking platform

The system will give the returning guest benefit to the guest.
