To help you, we’ve summarised what you should look out for on the website to ensure that it is accessible to as many people as possible and thus increase the number of direct bookings.

SSL encryption

We recommend you to use SSL encryption on your website, because Google prioritises sites with SSL encryption, which makes guests braver to enter their personal and possibly credit card details.

URL linking

Please check whether the website exists with a www and no prefix, and if the answer is yes, please make sure that the website is on one of these and the other is redirected to this one. Otherwise, these pages will be perceived by search engines as two separate websites with identical (duplicated) content, which will greatly reduce the website’s position in the search results. In addition, since our system allows one URL per interface and language, a page whose URL is not given in our system will not scale properly and no booking can be finalised.

Search-friendly URL

It is important to use search-friendly URLs, i.e. to have as many meaningful and relevant keywords as possible in the right language and in a form suitable for search engines. For example, if you use underscores instead of hyphens to connect words in the URL, Google will not consider them as separate words, but as one word, making your keywords meaningless.

Photo ALT tag

Each image requires the addition of an "alt tag" text, which is important information for search engine optimization because it further increases the relevance of the page from a search engine perspective for each keyword.

Meta title, meta description

Each subpage and language version should have a unique meta title and meta description in the appropriate foreign language. If the site does not take advantage of search engine optimisation of its sub-pages for the keywords relevant to it, it will lose or pass on a lot of visitors from search engines (e.g. Google) to its competitors.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free tool that is excellent for tracking website statistics, which are very useful for optimising website content, identifying target audiences, finding out customer interests, tracking conversions, etc., in other words, planning, tracking and measuring the results of marketing activities.
