If you use the booking interface on an external site, click here for help.

We believe it's important for our clients to see the behaviour of their visitors and the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns not only on their websites, but also on RESnWEB interfaces, which is why we have hired analytics experts to help us prepare our system to measure Meta Ads events.

For the settings required on the accommodation side, we have received the following help file from DataCrew, which guides you through the steps of the setup.

It's important to know that we develop the online booking system, Meta Ads measurement settings are not our area of expertise, so if you have any questions, you can contact your own analytics colleague or an analytics expert. We do provide the ability to measure bookings and gift voucher purchases on our interfaces, but the experts will be able to help you with the settings.

Prerequisites

To set this up, you need the imported GTM container described in the "GA4 measurement settings for the online booking system, in case of iFrame embedding" help file.

It is important that Consent Mode is already configured on websites. RESnWEB recommends CookieYes for this, but Cookiebot and OneTrust are also supported. For more information on CookieYes configuration, please refer to the help file "GA4 measurement settings for the online booking system, in case of iFrame embedding".

You also need the Meta Pixel ID and, in case of a Conversions API installation, the API Access Token.

Conversions API

With the phasing out of third-party cookies and increasingly intense browser restrictions, the measurement also includes server-side Conversions API (CAPI) measurement to meet the measurement challenges of the day. The final purchase conversion event is delivered via CAPI with advanced matching parameters.

It is important to note that it is only possible to set up a CAPI measurement when using a unique domain name. In addition, it should be noted that, CAPI data transfer only works if the visitor has given the maximum (marketing level) consent on the CookieYes cookie banner.

Get API Access Token

In order for CAPI to work, you need to access the API access token from Facebook Business Manager by selecting the event manager at https://business.facebook.com/ website:

Then our Meta Pixel:

Then, in the Settings tab, scroll down to the Generate Access Token button, which you select:

Copy the generated code to the clipboard:

Then you only need to enter the analytics IDs in the RESnWEB admin interface under Hotel information / For web developers:

Google Tag Manager settings

In order to make the Meta (Facebook) ecommerce measurement work, in our GTM container already set up for GA4, placed on the accommodation's website, we have to find the variable 'Const - Meta Pixel ID' in the Variables and enter the Meta Pixel ID of our accommodation:

Once you are done, you can arm the store by clicking on the "Submit" button in the top right corner and the Meta ecommerce measurement will start working.
